Assistant Principal
Jessica Govan
Assistant Principal Jessica Govan has over 18 years of experience in education. Ms. Govan began her career in the Lancaster Independent School District as a 2nd and 4th grade classroom teacher. She held positions as Grade Level Chair, TOSA, and PTA President and Vice President. She also served as a Mentor Teacher for grades 3-5. Ms. Govan was selected twice as Teacher of the Year in 2011-2012 and 2015-2016.
After her Lancaster ISD tenure, she worked at her former school she attended grades 6-8 as a Dallas ISD Reading Instructional Coach at Oliver Wendell Holmes Academy sequentially transitioning to the role of Assistant Principal for grade 6.
Ms. Govan earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Prairie View A&M. She earned her Master of Education in Educational Leadership, with Principal Certification from the University of North Texas at Dallas.
Ms. Govan is a Dallas ISD alumni proudly seeking to give back to a district that enhanced her educational journey and to show scholars a product of hard work. Her philosophy of education is that all students have great potential to achieve greatness.
